• Take the 242 bus from Ceylon Lodge to Negombo bus terminal.  Note! The bus station is located right next Ceylon Lodge and you can find buses going towards Negombo every 10 minutes.
• The ticket cost will be 100 Rupees per person.
• Within 10 minutes you’ll be able to reach the bus terminal in Negombo.

Negombo to Colombo by Bus

• Buses from Negombo to Colombo are available every 20 minutes. Opt for an air-conditioned bus for added comfort (The ticket cost will be higher than the normal bus).
• Ticket cost for the normal bus will be 120 Rupees per person.
• It will take 1.5 hours to reach Colombo if you take the normal bus, and if you take the highway bus, you can reach Colombo within 45 minutes.

Colombo Bus Terminal to Galle

• From Colombo Central Bus Stand, take bus #2-1 bound for Galle.
• The bus ride will be roughly about 3 hours.
• The ticket cost will be 345 Rupees per person.

Note! There are no direct buses from Negombo to Galle.

From Negombo to Colombo by Train

• It will take about 1 hour to reach Colombo.

From Colombo to Galle by Train

• The connecting train from Colombo Fort to Galle offers a scenic journey, departing as early as 10:30am and as late as 19:30pm.
• It will roughly take about 2.5 hours to reach Galle.
• Ticket cost will be 220 Rupees per person.

If you’re on a budget and want to soak in the picturesque Sri Lankan landscapes, the train is your best bet. Although there are no direct trains from Negombo to Galle.
